The purpose of the Church is to honor God and exalt Jesus Christ. It is not primarily about relieving human suffering, blessing the community, or evangelizing the lost, though these are good things that Christians should pursue. The focus should always be on teaching people the truth of Scripture, so they can know and worship the one true God, by exalting Jesus Christ in the way He has prescribed. The happiness of Christ should be the first pursuit, and people should only be encouraged to be happy if their happiness is found in Christ.
